Dr. Piero Schirò graduated M.D. in 2012 and completed his specialist training programme in geriatric medicine (5 years) in 2018 at the Palermo University Medical School in Italy. In 2019 awarded a 2nd level Master Degree (PgDip) in Angiology at the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart of Rome. He is an elderly-health specialist, expert in many areas of aging medicine such as diabetes care, geriatric endocrinology, bone mineral metabolism and nutritional disorders in aging. Currently his main research interests focus on model of care for frailty and promoting of healthy aging in Primary Care settings. He is an active member of the Italian Society of General Medicine & Primary Care (SIMG) and of the Italian Federation of General Practitioners (FIMMG).
