John Angel Bond

University of Stirling, United Kingdom

Biography

I am a Dementia Studies PhD researcher at the University of Stirling who has 10 years of relevant experience working in the Social Care sector as a Senior Supervisor and Senior Care Assistant in both residential and nursing settings. I have relevant practice experience in providing person-centred care, shift management, care planning, risk assessing, and liaising with key stakeholders that has shaped my research.

My key interest is the LGBTQ+ Dementia Community and my PhD will explore 'what it means to be a queer man with dementia' and use an Interpretative Phenomenological Analysis approach to answer the question.

Due to my interest, I have also become a member of the LGBTQ+ Dementia Advisory Group Community Interest Company which aims to give this cohort of people a voice and help make a positive change in health and social care.
