Mitra Shokrollahi is a senior PhD student at Temerty Faculty of Medicine, University of Toronto, Canada, Dr. Karim Mekhail’s laboratory. Her studies are focused on DNA repair pathways in the context of age-related disorders and cancer. She has won prestigious scholarships and awards for her work on a novel DNA repair pathway via the nuclear envelope. She and her team have recently published a paper in Nature Structural & Molecular Biology on the discovery of this novel DNA repair pathway with implications in age-related disorders. She is a longevity biotech enthusiast and is interested in continuing her research in the field of aging.
