After 13 years working in health services research with Griffith University, Xanthe developed an interest in aged care through working as a project manager on an intergenerational learning project for two years. Drawing on this experience, she developed a passion for exploring innovative approaches to service delivery in aged care that are evidence-informed, sustainable and effective in improving the social and emotional wellbeing of older adults. Xanthe joined the Bolton Clarke Research Institute in 2019 and established a storytelling program within the organisation that involved multiple types of story work including life story books, posters, and story circles; digital storytelling; intergenerational story work; and storytelling through creative arts (dance, music and poetry). She collaborates with an international network of researchers and practitioners to increase awareness and establish a robust evidence base to support this transformational work.
